Colorado is coming off an embarrassing 28-10 defeat at the hands of Nebraska last Saturday.
Colorado wasn’t ever fully in it and the game was basically over by halftime since Nebraska jumped out to a 28-0 lead.
It’ll be a Rocky Mountain showdown for Deion Sanders and Co. this week as Colorado will play Colorado State on Saturday. It’s a big game for both teams but Joel Klatt thinks this is the biggest game of the Sanders era since they need to show legit progress this year.
“Can we just pause for a moment and think about how big this game is for Colorado and Coach Prime?” Klatt said, (first transcribed by On3). “This is, unequivocally, the biggest game that Colorado has had since Coach Prime has gotten there. Because they can not lose this game. If they lose this game, where do you go from here? This would be a sign of regression in the second year.”
Colorado State gave everything Colorado could handle last year in Boulder but ultimately, Colorado won in overtime, 43-35.
This year’s game will be on the road for Colorado so Sanders will need to have his team ready for a rowdy crowd.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
