Things are going from bad to ugly for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes football program.
On Saturday, the Buffaloes lost to Nebraska, 28-10. The Huskers led 28-0 at halftime. Matt Rhule’s defense put the clamps on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
But while Coach Prime’s team has been losing on the field, he’s facing some heat on social media for a “childish” demand of Colorado’s marching band.
According to a report, Coach Prime demanded that Colorado’s marching band not play the school’s fight song after his son, Shedeur, scores a touchdown.
Jake Shapiro of DenverSports.com reported after Saturday night’s game that Deion Sanders has instead ordered Colorado’s band to instead play Shedeur Sanders’ rap song when he scores.
“A year later and the offensive line still doesn’t fight for each other.A year later and the fight song doesn’t even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn’t play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son’s song ‘Perfect Timing,’” Shapiro wrote.
If true, that’s a pretty rough look for Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program.
Marching bands and fight songs are part of college football. Don’t try to take them away.
