After referring to Colorado’s superstar wideout/cornerback Travis Hunter as “bland” this past week (and apologizing afterwards), Richard Sherman was made to look almost foolish by the dual-threat star in today’s game against UCF and is ready to change his stance on him.
Doing dominating 48-21 win over the Knights saw the Buffaloes star record 90 receiving yards and a touchdown on offense while adding an interception on defense. After Hunter’s interception off KJ Jefferson in the third quarter, Hunter hit the Heisman pose to signify how much he wants to most coveted award in college sports.
Hunter didn’t just play great and get nearly every football analyst in the country on his side, he got Sherman to do a complete 180 on his opinion of him. Taking to X, Sherman declared that the Heisman Trophy voters “are going to have a tough time” giving it to anyone other than Hunter.
“If the heisman is going to the best player in college football they are going to have a tough time not giving it to @TravisHunterJr,” Sherman wrote.

Fans raised some objections with players like Cam Ward dominating, and Sherman conceded that Ward could wind up taking it from Hunter.
“He’s playing high level football so we shall see,” Sherman said in response to a fan touting Ward’s credentials.
One thing is for sure: Hunter and the Buffaloes are rapidly turning doubters into believers.
