We’ve never quite seen the kind of things Travis Hunter is doing at the FBS level and the Heisman chatter continues to grow with each snap.
Colorado‘s two-way star is a big reason why the Buffs find themselves up 28-9 in Saturday night’s Rocky Mountain Showdown. Through three-and-a-half quarters, Hunter has 12 catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns — as well as four tackles and an interception on defense.
Fans marveled at his talent on social media.
“If Colorado ends up having a decent year and makes a bowl game I don’t know how you don’t give Travis Hunter the Heisman,” a user said. “He plays damn near every play on both sides of the ball and is the best player on the field on both.”
“Give Travis Hunter the Heisman even if CU goes 5-7. We can’t downplay what we’re watching,” another commented.
“I see Travis Hunter trying to win the Heisman tonight,” Jemele Hill laughed.
“lol Travis hunter gotta be the front runner for the heisman man Ik it’s early but cmon bruh lol that boy the truth.”
Skip Bayless also sent out a few posts on X hyping No. 12 up:
“TRAVIS HUNTER IS THE BEST CORNERBACK IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. TRAVIS HUNTER IS THE BEST RECEIVER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.”
“Travis Hunter just might be the best corner in college AND pro football.”
It really is special what Hunter has been able to do since setting foot in Boulder. Maybe he’ll be able to break the streak of QB winners in recent years.
