A Monday night game between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat turned ugly when Markieff Morris and Nikola Jokic got into it.
Trailing by nearly 20 points in the fourth quarter, Morris hit Jokic with a cheap foul. Jokic responded by decking Morris in the back with his shoulder, which sent the Heat big man to the ground.
Markief’s brother, Marcus, wasn’t very happy with Jokic and had a message for the reigning NBA MVP. “Waited till bro turned his back smh,” Morris said. “NOTED.”
Well, Jokic’s brothers, Nemanja and Strahinja, responded with a message of their own.
“You should leave this the way it is instead of publicly threatening our brother! Your brother made a dirty play first,” the Jokic brothers said. “If you want to make a step further be sure we will be waiting for you!! Jokic Brothers.”
Fans weren’t exactly sure if the Twitter account that comment came from was real. However, NBA reporter Mike Singer said he spoke with one of the brothers, who confirmed it was real.
This is a situation that could easily get out of hand when the Nuggets and Heat face off later this month. Hopefully cooler heads prevail, but for now it’s great content.
Denver and Miami face each other on November 29.
