The Rockies will look to win this series in Anaheim
The Colorado Rockies finished July on a weird note after complete inaction at the trade deadline, as well as with a 11-15 record. They’re finishing up a series in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels and will hope to win the series two games to one tonight. The Rox have gone 15-32 all-time against the Angels. The .319 winning percentage is their lowest against any single opponent in franchise history. They took two of three from the Halos in 2023 at Coors Field, their first series win against them since sweeping a two-game set in 2006, but are 9-17 all-time in Anaheim.
Ryan Feltner (1-10, 4.99 ERA) is making his career-high 22nd start of the season today — his 13th on the road and first-career start against the Angels. In his last outing against the San Francisco Giants on July 27th, Feltner threw six innings and allowed one run (on a solo home run) while walking four and striking out six.
Feltner will duel against Angels’ veteran righty Carson Fulmer (0-2, 3.77 ERA). Fulmer has made three starts (27 appearance) on the season, and this is his third start at home. In his last time out against the Oakland Athletics on July 26, Fulmer took a no-decision after pitching 5 2⁄3 innings and surrendering (three runs) on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Today marks his second-career appearance (first start) against the Rockies. Fulmer last faced Colorado as a member of the Cincinnati Reds organization on May 13, 2021 at Coors Field. In that appearance, he threw 1 1⁄3 innings of relief while allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.
