The Rockies have a chance to win consecutive series.
After posting a 3-1 win on Tuesday, the Colorado Rockies fell flat in Wednesday’s 6-1 loss against the Washington Nationals. Still, they’ll have a chance to clinch the series in their final meeting with the team from the nation’s capital in 2024.
Cal Quantrill will get the ball for manager Bud Black. Quantrill has maintained excellent production in his first season with the Rockies, entering the game with a 4.59 ERA and 8-8 record in 24 starts this season.
Opposing Quantrill and the Rockies will be veteran lefty Patrick Corbin. It’s been a tough go for Corbin and the Nationals since their magical run to a World Series championship in 2019. That trend has continued this year, as Corbin has an unsightly 2-12 record and 5.92 ERA in 135 1⁄3 IP in 2024.
