Can the Rockies spoil Ludacris night?
The Rockies’ offense struggled to get much going against the Atlanta Braves last night as Chris Sale continued his impressive first season in Atlanta. Now, as the Braves host a Ludacris night, the Rockies will look to take the second game of the series.
Bradley Blalock takes the hill for the night, looking to rebound from a difficult start last time around. The young righty gave up six runs on nine hits in just four innings of work against the Miami Marlin. He was due for a clunker after his first three starts were quite excellent as a Rockie so here’s hoping he can persevere and rebound.
The Braves will counter with another veteran in old man Charlie Morton. The 40-year-old righty has spent 17 years in the big leagues and has spent the last five seasons in Atanta. He enters with a 7-7 record and a 4.26 ERA along with 140 strikeouts. Aside from a rough start on August 8, Morton has been quite solid over the last month, including his last start where he allowed three runs over 5 2⁄3 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.
