The Rockies look to scrape a win in their final meeting with Atlanta
After taking two-of-three against the Atlanta Braves at home in the first week of August, the Colorado Rockies have dropped the first two on the road this series. With a win today Colorado will manage a split in the season series against Atlanta.
Taking the ball for Colorado will be lefty Austin Gomber. Gomber enters the game with a 4.69 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 144 IP. He tossed six strong innings in his last start, but took a hard-luck loss despite recording a quality start and will be making his only appearance this season against the Braves.
Opposing Gomber and the Rockies will be Reynaldo López. The nine year veteran has had a superb season for Atlanta, posting an even 2.00 ERA in 22 starts — making his first All Star team this year. He’s struck out 125 in 121 2⁄3 innings and holds a 4.9 bWAR for the 2024 campaign.
