Colorado Rockies game no. 152 thread: Jordan Montgomery vs Ryan Feltner

The Rockies will look to win their final 2024 series with the D-backs.

This evening, the Colorado Rockies (58-93) will try to win their three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks (83-67).

LHP Jordan Montgomery will take the mound for the visiting D-backs. Currently, he has a 6.25 ERA (1.64 WHIP) in 108.0 innings pitched. He’s struck out 73, walked 40, and given up 13 home runs.

This has not been the season Montgomery wanted, and two weeks ago, he was moved from the rotation to the bullpen. However, an injury to Ryne Nelson has put him back in the rotation.

Starting for the Rockies will be RHP Ryan Feltner. He’s earned a 4.89 ERA (1.39 WHIP) in 143.2 IP. He’s struck out 127, walked 47, and given up 40 home runs. Based on fWAR, he’s been the Rockies best pitcher.

A struggling D-backs team currently holds the second NL Wild Card. However, they the rest of their season is against contending teams, so they are incentivized to make the most of their time in Denver.
