Rockies looking to snap 5-game slide in California
The Rockies have been outscored 27-5, shut out three times and dominated in all facets of the game on a five-game losing streak against the Padres and Dodgers.
The good news is that tonight’s the last day of the road trip and the Rockies could end it on a bright note in the series finale in Los Angeles.
Germán Márquez (0-2, 4.60 ERA) is looking for his first win in his fourth appearance after missing most of the last two seasons. After a scoreless six innings when he struck out four and only allowed four hits with no walks against the Phillies in his 2025 debut, Márquez has given up eight earned runs on 12 hits with seven walks and six strikeouts in 9 2⁄3 innings against the A’s and Padres.
Bobby Miller will be on the mound for the Dodger. The 26-year-old RHP was called up by the Dodgers earlier in the day from the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets. In 35 starts over the past two seasons, Miller is 13-8 with a 5.24 ERA. Starting the season with the Comets, Miller has three appearances this season including two starts, going 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings.
On Monday, the Rockies called up catcher Braxton Fulford, who will be making his MLB debut in the start behind the plate. Nick Martini will take a turn at leadoff to see if he can kickstart the Rockies offense.
Also, happy Dinger hatch day to those who celebrate.
