The Rockies will look to split their first home series against the formidable Dodgers
It’s been a wild last two games. Tuesday’s collapse birthed memes of Jake Cave and a Colorado Rockies walk-off win with a Brenton Doyle sacrifice fly on Wednesday. The win gives the Rockies a chance to finish even in a four game set with the first place Los Angeles Dodgers in their first home series against the Southern California squad.
Taking the mound for L.A. will be Gavin Stone, who holds an impressive 7-2 record and 3.01 ERA in 13 starts this season. The Arkansas native has recorded 56 strikeouts in 74 2⁄3 innings and has pitched at least into the sixth inning in eight of his last nine starts.
Opposing Stone and the Dodgers is lefty Ty Blach. The Coloradan will make his ninth start of the year, enter the game with a 4.65 ERA in 50 1⁄3 IP. Blach has been a reliable arm since entering the rotation in mid-May, posting four runs or less and throwing at least five innings in six of his last seven starts.
