The Rockies have a chance to split their four game set with Milwaukee.
After getting blanked last night against by Colin Rea, the Colorado Rockies will try to salvage the final game of their four game set against the Milwaukee Brewers and earn a split in the matchup.
Toeing the rubber for the Brew Crew is rookie Tobias Myers, who is 5-2 on the year with a 3.26 ERA in 12 appearances — all but one starts. The former 6th round selection is coming off an impressive June where he posted a 1.44 ERA and four wins in 31 1⁄3 innings. He’ll be making his first career start against Colorado.
Cal Quantrill will get the ball for the Rockies. The staff ace this season, Quantrill has a 3.78 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 95 1⁄3 IP. He was roughed up for five runs and served up three dingers in his last start against the Chicago White Sox. It was just the third start this year where Quantrill has allowed four runs or more in 17 opportunities.
