The Rockies are in the Queen City to kick off their final road trip of the first half.
The Colorado Rockies are on the road for the final stretch before the All-Star Break. The seven game road trip kicks off with a four game set against the Cincinnati Reds, who are coming off getting swept in three games against the Detroit Tigers. The Rockies will look to capitalize on their negative momentum for a strong end to the first half.
On the mound for the Rockies is the right-handed Ryan Feltner, who had his last start pushed back a day so that he could play in his home state of Ohio with friends and family present. Feltner is coming off a solid first start in July against the Milwaukee Brewers where he allowed just one earned run on six hits and two walks over five innings of work.
On the bump for the Redlegs is Andrew Abbott, a lefty that the Rockies have seen before. On June 3rd Abbott spun a six inning Quality Start against the Rockies where he struck out six batters and gave up just one walk while giving up three earned runs on seven hits. Since then, Abbott has made five more starts and gone at least five innings in each one. Abbot hasn’t given up more than three earned runs in an outing since May.
