The move comes after an injury to Tyler Freeman.
This morning, the Colorado Rockies announced they have recalled Adael Amador (No. 3 PuRP) from the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.

The story was first reported by Thomas Harding.
Last night, it was confirmed by Amador on Instagram.
Currently in Triple-A, Amador is slashing .275/.408/.450 with a .858 OPS. In 40 at-bats, he has 11 hits, including two home runs and one double. Patience at the plate has always been Amador’s calling card, and so far this season, he has walked eight time compared to four strikeouts.
Last season, Amador was with the Rockies for 10 games, slashing .171/.194/.200 in 36 plate appearances. He went 6-for-35 with a double before returning to Double-A Hartford.
This season, the Rockies have struggled to man second base. During the offseason, they signed Thairo Estrada, who was sidelined in spring training with a wrist injury that will have him out for six to eight weeks. With utility player Kyle Farmer moving into the starting role, the Rockies traded Nolan Jones for Freeman in an attempt to shore up the position. However, Freeman’s injury creates a personnel shortage at second.
Amador’s promotion is part of what appears to be an earlier-than-expected youth movement. Last weekend, Chase Dollander (No. 1 PuRP) was promoted due to an Austin Gomber shoulder injury. On Monday, the Rockies announced they were calling up Zac Veen (No. 4 PuRP) and sending Jordan Beck to Albuquerque.
Amador’s promotion marks the next step in the Rockies’ youth movement.
