Today’s lineup features multiple players looking to stake a claim for a major league roster spot
It’s another great day for Sunday afternoon baseball as your fightin’ Colorado Rockies do battle with the Seattle Mariners.
Ryan Feltner (2-0, 6.23 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Rox. He’ll seek to record his first scoreless outing of the spring, as he allowed two runs in his first start and one run last time out.
Feltner leads a lineup that features a multitude of players vying for the opportunity to play at the Major League level this season, including Nick Martini, Adael Amador, Sam Hilliard, Jordan Beck, and Kyle Farmer. All are trying to impress manager Bud Black enough to earn a spot on either the Rockies bench or corner outfield position.
Lineup mainstays Ezequiel Tovar, Nolan Jones, and Michael Toglia will also appear in the contest.
On Seattle’s side, their starting lineup bears a strong resemblance to the one they’ll likely utilize on Opening Day. With aspirations of a sustained postseason run, they’ll look to set the tone with a win today.
Rockies fans can look forward to seeing the always-exciting Julio Rodríguez, powerful Cal Raleigh, and slick-fielding JP Crawford take the field for the M’s.
