Skyler and Dustin look back on this Rockies father and son duo
Every Rockie Ever is a show under the Rocky Mountain Rooftop banner where brothers Skyler and Dustin Timmins sit down and talk about every player to suit up for the Colorado Rockies to share memories and the legacy of their careers.
It’s common for MLB players to eventually have children grow up to be professional players as well. The fun part is when those children end up playing for the same team as their father. In the history of the Rockies, they have just one father/son duo in the form of Eric Young Sr. and Jr. An original Rockie in 1993, Sr. was a key player for the Rockies until he was traded in 1997, and he eventually came back to coach. The brothers reflect on his offensive prowess and iconic home opener home run at Mile High Stadium. Then they look to the career of Jr who played several years with the Rockies in a part-time role from 2009-2013. Known mostly for his quick speed, Jr. didn’t have as notable a career as his dad, but hey they starred in a great commercial together!
In 30 years of existence, the Colorado Rockies have seen nearly 700+ players and coaches suit up in purple. From the greats of Todd Helton and Larry Walker to obscure ones like Kent Bottenfield and Tim Christman. Join brothers Skyler and Dustin Timmins as they endeavor to shine a light on Every Rockie Ever.
