The Colorado Rockies remain undefeated (in spring training games)
Like the Colorado Rockies, we here at Purple Row are also trying a few new things during spring training to see if they work.
For the last 10 days or so, we had notes from spring training, and we learned from those posts that we’ve got some night owl Rockies fans looking for a place to hang out. So we thought we’d try this and see if there’s any interest.
It’s mostly a discussion thread, but think of it as a community bar playing whatever it is you want to watch or listen to whatever you’re here.
Today, the Rockies thrashed the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-3. (taco’s, anyone?)
It was notable for a few reasons.
There was a Michael Toglia bomb.
And a Zac Veen tater (with a colossally epic batflip).
(Maybe that loopy swing works after all?)
There were questions in today’s Game Thread about Gabriel Hughes (No. 11 PuRP) and his pitch arsenal. Here’s what he said about that after the game.

And he identified that mystery pitch that confused StatCast.
And that mystery pitch today on Statcast?
Here’s how Hughes classifies it.

Plus, Diego Castillo discussed his first outing as a Rockie and working with Drew Romo.

So tonight’s question is this: Having seen two games — with lots of kids playing — what are your early thoughts on the 2025 Colorado Rockies?
Granted, it’s spring training, and spring training games don’t matter, but are you beginning to rethink some of your assumptions about this team based on what we’ve seen so far?
