The World Series is over and we’re trickling into the early part of the 2024 MLB offseason. So far we’ve seen a handful of moves around the league, as well as minor league free agency officially beginning. Awards season is also in full swing, with Brenton Doyle and Ezequiel Tovar officially won Gold Gloves at their respective positions — Tovar for the first time, and Doyle for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, though, Doyle was unable to level up to Platinum — that went to Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang.
Next up are the Silver Sluggers on November 12, but the Rockies don’t have any finalists this year. In fact, the last Silver Slugger the Rockies won was by Trevor Story in 2019. The BBWAA awards schedule is as follows:
- Nov. 18: Jackie Robinson Rookies of the Year
- Nov. 19: Managers of the Year
- Nov. 20: Cy Young Awards
- Nov. 21: MVP Awards
That all said, here’s what the Purple Row writers were up to this week:
