Colorado Rockies minor league report for Monday, July 8th, 2024
This is the new home of the Weekly Pebble Report here on Purple Row, your weekly Colorado Rockies minor league update. We have decided to make the Pebble Report a stand-alone article for ease of access and to better even out our content for our readers, since it was essentially two articles on top of one another. Starting today, the Pebble Report will go up after the Monday Rockpile on Monday mornings to start the week!

Triple-A: Albuquerque Isotopes (3-3, 32-55 Overall)
The Isotopes split a solid series with the El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego Padres). After taking three of their first four it looked like they might be cruising to a series win, but were unfortunately unable to stick the landing as they lost the final two games.
Stock Up: After being designated for assignment last week and clearing waivers, first baseman and designated hitter Elehuris Montero was outrighted to the Isotopes. Once he joined the team he quickly picked up where he had left off last season. In three games Montero went 5-for-14 with three doubles and five RsBI.

Double-A: Hartford Yard Goats (3-3, 44-35 Overall)
The Yard Goats started off strong against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (New York Mets) by ratting off three straight wins. However, they ran out of steam in the second half of the series by losing three straight and allowing five or more runs in each loss.
Stock Down: Adael Amador (no. 1 PuRP) has struggled mightily since returning to Double-A after his oblique injury. In five games against the Rumble Ponies he went just 3-for-21 while striking out a whopping 13 times to just three walks.

Stock Up: Tricky left-handed pitcher Carson Palmquist (no. 18 PuRP) had a magnificent return to form this week against the Rumble Ponies. Palmquist pitched an outstanding seven shutout innings while giving up just one hit and one walk. He also set the Yard Goats single game franchise record for strikeouts by fanning 13. Unfortunately, the Yard Goats ultimately lost the game due to a dramatic bullpen implosion.

High-A: Spokane Indians (5-1, 49-30 Overall)
The Spokane Indians took five of six against the Tri-City Dust Devils (Los Angeles Angels) but the most impressive part of their series win was the 30 consecutive innings from the Indians pitching staff without allowing a run. The Indians shut out the Dust Devils three times.
Stock Up: Right-handed pitcher Connor Staine had an excellent Fourth of July outing where he pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed just one hit on the way to an Indians shutout victory. Staine struck out a career high 12 batters while giving up just two walks.

He also stole three bases during the series. The 2023 competitive balance pick is one of the Northwest League leaders in many offensive categories, including triples.
